Different fillers available
There are a large number of different dermal fillers that are available.
They can be classified in many ways from being temporary, through long lasting/semi-permanent through to being permanent.
There are also a wide variety of substances that can be injected. One of the first substances was from collagen made from animals. Now, as technology has moved on, there are a large number of different fillers on the market.

The use of fillers is very widespread and the results depend not only on the substance being used, but also the skill and training of the person doing the procedure.
All of the fillers are injected although some can be injected through smaller needles than others and as such the pain or discomfort of having the procedure done is very variable. In some people using some fillers, a light local anaesthetic cream is more than adequate whereas for other people who feel pain more or using products that cause more inflammation or bigger needle sizes, injected local anaesthetics may be required.

If you decide to have facial fillers or dermal fillers on your face, anyone offering this treatment will take a medical history from you and will be happy to explain which treatment they prefer and why. They will usually ask you exactly what you wish to have corrected and by how much. It may well be that they will then tell you whether that is possible or will suggest how to get as near as what you want, sometimes taking more than one session to achieve your aim. This is a very variable process and therefore needs to be discussed individually with each client and each clinician doing the treatment.
